Shorewater is a national commercial diving company in operation for 15+ years. We employ upwards of 30 employees and complete 20-30 jobs across the country on a monthly basis.
We have been working with Luke and his team for the past three years, when he came on board, our monthly close off procedures were non-existent and the complex nature of our business meant we had a limited idea of our financial performance month on month. We essentially operated from our cash balance and looked at that to guide us as to our performance. This led to multiple difficult situations when unexpected bills popped up.
Luke introduced us to month end reporting, he set up financial procedures to follow and initiated job tracking. Three years on, at the end of every month Luke prepares management accounts and notifies us of the companies performance, confirming monthly revenues, Gross profit margins and net profit. He tells us exactly how much we made on each job completed and how this ties into the Gross profit for the month. He tracks profitability of our customers, overhead expenditure and many more key financial indicators.
This knowledge has revolutionised our business and allowed us to make informed financial decisions and sleep well at night knowing that we understand our financial position.
